Temple Canyon Trail

Starts in Laketown, on the southern end of Bear Lake. Runs northwest along Bear lake Blvd, then enters Temple Canyon. The trail is along a wide shelf about 50 feet above a canyon floor, with beautiful views of forests. Crosses a cattle guard at the 8.4-mile mark then enters a forest. From here, the road is bumpier as it proceeds over sections of imbedded rock. The trail merges with Hardware Ranch Rd and forms a loop trail with Strawberry Valley Trail and Hardware Ranch Rd.

Paris Ice Cave

The Paris Ice Cave is also an interest landmark in the valley. Although not as spectacular as the Minnetonka, visitors enjoy its interesting aura. Just follow the signs up Paris Main Canyon. This cave is open year round but is only accessible by snowmobile during the winter months. Most years you can drive to the cave June through October. If you’d like to check road conditions, contact the Montpelier Ranger District by calling 208-847-0375.
